Over the past decade, British music producer, composer, musician and sound artist Kevin “KK” Kerrigan has worked on an eclectic range of projects – from collaborations with many of the world's top selling recording artists, to writing extensively for television, film, circus, and even a popular series of children's albums.
KK’s credits speak for themselves. In 2001 he co-produced the band “James” with “Brian Eno” and went on to co-write two albums with James frontman Tim Booth. His hybrid, postmodern sound combined with his innovative music programming led to a collaboration with “Bjórk”, with much of this work becoming the seed behind her two most critically acclaimed albums. Kevin then went on to work with some of the world's top artists such as “Dido”, “Britney Spears”, “Kylie”, “Sting”, “Craig David”, “Shaznay Lewis” (“All Saints”), “Will Young”, “KT Tunstall”, “Santana”, “Beautiful South”, “Yusuf Islam” (“Cat Stevens”), “Rick Nowels” (“Madonna”), “Cathy Dennis” (“Kylie”/ “Britney”), “Melanie C”, “Nelly Furtado” and “Natalie Imbruglia”.
Tiring of the pop hit production line, KK began to seek his muse elsewhere. He began creating electronic soundtracks for independent films ("The Fall Of Adam”, "The Music Lesson") and releasing his own, highly cinematic albums (“Telescopes” 2007, “The Magic Lantern” 2009, “Empty World” 2011). And involving himself in an evermore diverse range of media; from musical directing circus shows for the National Theatre and infamous London nightclub Shunt, to writing a horror score for cult Halloween game “Raw Fear” (Re:Creation)
In 2005, KK and Zero 7's Sophie Barker created the first in their “Rainbow Collections” series of children's albums - “Lullaby” (Sony Music) - which became a huge word-of-mouth success, and in 2010, to popular demand released two sequels - “Toybox” and “Snowflake”.
KK’s film and TV credits include the Michael Mann/Tom Cruise thriller “Collateral” (Paramount Pictures), "The Thompsons" (Lionsgate), BBC, ITV, Discovery, National Geographic, Bravo, History Channel, TLC, Channel 4 and others, and for commercial clients including: BBH, Sony Tag, British Airways, Land Rover, Chivas, Ballantines, Lolita perfume (France), Google, Jonnie Walker, dnbBank (Norway), MTV and LiveNation, as well as corporate videos (Smoke & Mirrors), web campaigns (“Supernatural” Warner Bros).
Years of experience of running broad-ranging projects (large and small) have left Kevin with a uniquely versatile skill set to draw upon, with record production, bespoke composition, music to picture, orchestral / choral orchestration, string arrangement, sound design, sound engineering, editing, programming, and mixing (stereo & 5.1 surround) now just a few areas of his technical expertise.
At 21stCenturyGenius, KK has an elite network of the very best musicians, programmers and engineers (who consistently work with him on his diverse workload), a state of the art (5.1 surround capable) studio, and a long-term working relationship with world class heritage facilities such as London's RAK Studios for larger productions (eg band / orchestral recording).
